Crossed Structure Book with handmade paper: 23 & 24 June

Date: Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th June, 10am to 4pm.
In this two-day workshop, participants will create a Crossed Structure binding with the guidance of bookbinder Éilís Murphy // foldedleaf.ie
This structure is a non-adhesive sewn binding developed by Carmencho Arregui. It is ideal as a journal or sketchbooks, allowing you to add or remove signatures of the book at a later stage.
Participants will also learn the basics of papermaking, making several sheets of handmade paper for their book.
Participants need to bring:
Scrap paper (no shiny/glossy paper), Stanley knife/scapel, cutting mat, ruler, pencil, apron – along with any ideas/material/objects they would like to incorporate into their book.
All other materials will be supplied.
