Beginners Etching Weekend Workshop: 9 & 10 September

170.00

Tutor: Niamh Flanagan

Dates: Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September, 10-4pm

Suitable for: Beginners

Students will be introduced to basic printmaking practice and will develop these skills over the duration of the course. We will begin the course by introducing students to creating an image with drypoint or contact monoprint to get used to the printmaking process. Students will then create line on a copper plate using the hard ground or soft ground method.

Materials:
As students will be working from their own ideas, we would prefer you to bring a drawing or painting you have made yourself as source material. If you do not usually draw or paint, please bring other source material, like a tracing of a drawing or some photographs or images you like to help us understand what kind of image you would like to make. The more source material you bring with you, the better! Please bring a hard copy image with you, not an image on a device.

Students will be provided with a start-up supply of all printmaking materials such as paper, ink and copper.

However, it is necessary to bring:
- apron
- pencils, pens and paintbrushes
- a notebook

Please note there is a minimum requirement of participants, if not reached course is subject to cancellation. A full refund will be issued in this event.
