Graphic Studio Gallery present the much-anticipated solo exhibition of new work, by the internationally renowned street artist, Maser.
The exhibition consists of a large series of newly created original fine art prints in multiple media, as well as unique 3d works. The artist has also used the gallery shop front as a vital element of the show – a prelude to the artwork within.
Employing his bright colour palate to create compositions with strong bold geometric shapes, these vibrant pictures are an extension of the artists’ recognised practice as a graffiti artist.
His new works demonstrate unassuming techniques emphasizing simplicity of form, that sometimes incorporate suggestive figurative elements. Hard edged blocks of colour jostle with the outline of an outstretched arm, a torso, a hand, and continue his transition towards representation and geometric abstraction.
Avoiding the distinction between art as experience and art objects, Maser’s refined minimalist style is increasingly shown in public spaces. Among his multiple international projects, he recently exhibited at Palais de Tokyo, and in 2015 was artist in residence for the Sydney Festival, where he produced the mammoth interactive installation “Higher Ground” in the city’s Hyde Park.
The artist is particularly loved in Dublin, where memorable projects include his monumental ‘They Are Us’ collaboration with Damien Dempsey, as well as his installation at Dublin Contemporary, and his many murals in the city. Recent works here, include his installation at Smithfield for Bram Stokers festival, and his iconic ‘Repeal the 8th’ Mural on Project Arts Centre.
